A lot of people seem to think that to keep in shape you have to live a miserable life. NOT SO!
A few years on from shedding 2 stone and getting myself in shape, I now find that I sit happily at 80 kg. This means that I live a life that I enjoy and remain the same weight. Obviously I am sensible with my diet, but if I feel like having a beer I have one. If I fancy a bar of chocolate I have one. By exercising regularly and being careful about what I eat most of the time, my weight stays the same. My body is comfortable at this weight. If I wanted to drop down to 75-76 kg I would probably struggle to maintain it by living a life that I am happy with. It really is about getting the balance right.
To achieve your target weight you will need to knuckle down and be very sensible with your diet and take plenty of exercise. Once you reach that goal there is no reason why you cannot be as happy as I am. As long as you keep control of your eating habits and exercise regularly, you can enjoy a few treats.
Your lifestyle does have to change, but for the better. Is your life really that great at the moment? Do you enjoy getting out of breath walking up a flight of stairs? Do you enjoy struggling to bend down to tie your shoe laces, or buying clothes just because they fit, not because you like them? Of course not.
Now is the time to do something about it.
Make that change!
